Entrees were delicious and appropriately sized! Loved the new decor and menu. The dry-aged New York strip, for example, is described as “Midwestern” and “corn-fed.” Those may be good qualities for a high-school quarterback, but cows that are fed corn are going against their evolutionary preference (which is grass), and neither the cow nor the people who eat it benefit from the substitution. We will be back though. Was great! In the late 1980s, Tramonto was brought to Chicago by Richard Melman to work at his popular restaurants Avanzare and Scoozi! Pasta w Sausage/Brocollini and Chick Parm. Yes, you can generally book this restaurant by choosing the date, time and party size on OpenTable. I had made a request when I made the reservation sufficiently in advance of the date. Food was excellent..bronzino and chicken scarp..and there was proper distance between tables.

We were a party of four. Tramonto by Zuppa is inspired by our family’s love of good food, wine and family gatherings.
But great food and great service. They did not fall short of the restaurant ambiance by bringing things outdoors; it instead elevated the experience. Delicious food.
A little warm as we sat indoors. Gnocchi and bolognese sauce were very good. Great outdoor dining.
We got into town way earlier than anticipated. It was a wonderful feeling being able to sit outdoors with other customers, enjoying the world coming back to life. Food was delicious. Excellent food and service from our waiter, Luis. All in all, a GREAT dining experience, and I will definitely come back. But though the whimsy was there, it couldn’t save the “backwards root-beer float.” Made with house-made root-beer ice cream and excellent Gale Gand–label cream soda, the float is nice enough but the accompanying “brioche fries,” sticks of brioche fashioned to resemble steak fries, kill the dish with their mediocrity. Food is great and wine list is good.
When you walk through those doors, you’re part of a family where every meal is a special occasion. We called and asked if we could come early...the response was very friendly and no problem. I highly recommend any of the seafood specials, I had the halibut and it was excellent. I visited Tramonto when they first opened up for outdoor dining in phase 2 of quarantine. Everything was great. It stood out like a Jew at Mass, jumping out as the one dish I could truly get excited about on Tramonto’s Steak and Seafood’s extensive, yet largely uncreative, menu. We finished dessert by the time the after dinner drinks arrived. This was always a special place for us that we frequented often.
Calamari salad and gnocchi were both exemplary! Great setting, great food. Even though it was a "Holiday" night, our reservation was at 830pm with much of the crowd leaving as we were coming in. They did a fantastic job of bringing their inside dining experience outdoors. I brought my team from out of town (out of country) to dine as a celebration for our achievements. We had a lovely evening and enjoyed the delicious food, wine and ambiance. The food was delicious, the staff was very attentive, and the restaurant is very attractive with a warm and welcoming feeling.

Would highly recommend! While the oysters from the raw bar were sublime, evoking salty breezes on the beach, appetizers that were more under the kitchen’s control failed to make a big impression. I much preferred the braised-beef short ribs, with their luscious layers of buttery fat. All of our dishes were mediocre. As we looked at dishes other table were ordering we wish we had bigger bellies to try more.
Very tasty and good service. Excellent service. Of course, by the time I tried it, I already knew not to expect much more.

A sautéed-banana sundae had some inspired touches, such as the delicious peanut butter ice cream, and crunchy pieces of merengue that crowned it. Not so this time. The server seemed overworked. Large restaurant that serves many diners.

The service and ambiance was great too. Service was great -food was amazing -location perfect -can’t wait to go back, A delicious dinner! Almost 20 minutes to take a drink order and another 20 after dinner for dessert orders but I was still eating while they started clearing the others at the table. This was our first time at Tramonto, and we are definitely headed back. This is spacious, comfortable restaurant with easy parking and above average food.

Still, paired with mushrooms and fresh greens, it was by far the most creative dish the restaurant had to offer.
Brooklyn Blackout Cake was moist, light, sweet and very much like the kind of cake you’d get from a box mix (and I mean that in the nicest way possible).
